Inspired by “Akira” the classic anime and manga, it was shot 90% guerrilla meaning the only 10% we got permission for was the Bar scene. Equipment includes a Canon xh-a1 along with the letus extreme for select shots, and the canon 5d mark 2. Software includes: Adobe After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop…
We intended on making a “real” live action Akira to the best of our ability. We’ve acknowledged that there are far too many “live action” Akira shorts in which they simulated or rendered Kaneda’s Motorcycle into a scene, but doing so compromised showing Kaneda actually riding it, so we decided on going with an actual Motorcycle. We also wanted to have our own story since too many individuals have attempted to make a live adaptation of the original Anime.

“It is 10 years after the Death of Tetsuo… There are only two gang members left in Kaneda’s crew including himself. Kaneda becomes the very last when his friend gets murdered by the Clown in the short’s beginning, this prompts Kaneda to seek revenge.”
