Well the brotha Lu’s official official video for ‘Paris, Toyko’ has dropped and it probably couldn’t set a more proper tone for the joint. Just like the lyrics entail, it features an extremely dapper Lupe making his worldly rounds, all while keeping his main squeeze abreast of his whereabouts. Watch the music video for ‘Paris, Toyko’ after the break and the “The Cool” is in stores now, definitely cop that if haven’t already…

Yes, spring is upon us and that means there’s a plethora of inebriated college students in need of entertainment. So recently on MTV in Pamana City, Lupe performed his single in front of a whole lot of the previously mentioned. We’ve heard ‘Paris, Toyko’ a few times before, so “The Cool” is in stores now, and check out his spring break performance below…

What can I say about this video, or rather yet this song. It’s not one of his more lyrically mesmerizing songs, but I have to be candid for a moment. I constantly retain small reverence for these feel good hip-hop songs deep down in the darkest regions of my loins. It’s one of the most rudimentary concepts within hip-hop, the struggle and the achievement through the art. Who can deny that satisfaction, elation and glory from that endeavor of survival? This flick pans out the storytelling of Lupe as expected. Pay attention throughout the video however, there are quite a few worthwhile cameo’s from some of the biggest names out of Houston. Expect appearances from Bun B, Willie D, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and the always tantalizing songstress Miss Nikki Jean. Pardon the digress, but I have to point out that the hook “stack that cheese” almost comes off as subtly condescending. Which would be a huge juxtaposition when featuring artist’s with songs eerily reminiscent of stack that cheese. But that could just be him referencing that Houston Hp-hop Culture. But yo, this song is about the conquest of Hip-Hop so catch Lupe’s newest single after the jump and “The Cool” is in stores now.

So last friday a fresh cool young Lue performed at Carson Daly’s late night show in front a crowd who seemed more enthusiastic to be on Television, then instead being in front of this brotha (minus that fellow at 0:38). Its all gravy though, because the performance was dope regardless, and the elaborate stage setting was rather appropriate too. Watch Lupe perform ‘Paris, Toyko’ a track that I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews about, after the break and “The Cool” is in stores everywhere…

‘Hip-Hop Saved My Life’ featuring the very attractive Nikki Jean is a very powerful song no doubt, and definitely would of been my choice as the next single. Although by looking by these stills its definitely not how I would of envisioned Lupe to portray this song. I was assuming the brotha would of gone the same route as “He Say, She Say” and been completely absent from the video. We’ll see how it turns out soon enough though…

Best solo rap album of 07′ anybody? I’m going to go out on a limb and make that prediction right now, but seriously, out of all the tracks off “The Cool” recently leaked and heard during live performances from Lue, did you hear one that didn’t strike your fancy? (n/h) ‘The Coolest’ was originally spotted at Eskay’s and according to him the track will be the first chapter in the story that is “The Cool“. Another conceptual album? Definitely a good look, the game needs more creativity, look for Lu’s sophomore joint in stores everywhere 12/18/07…

Now this is a banger, I haven’t heard that real (312) Chi-Town sound in a minute, this has that straight Do or Die and that Speedknot Mobstaz feel to it. You’ve heard and seen Gemini on Lupe’s - ‘He say, She say‘, and now this brotha is getting ready to drop, hes signed to Lupe’s record company 1st & 15th and his debut album is coming out soon, I’ll keep you posted. But for now, just enjoy this track…
