What can I say about this video, or rather yet this song. It’s not one of his more lyrically mesmerizing songs, but I have to be candid for a moment. I constantly retain small reverence for these feel good hip-hop songs deep down in the darkest regions of my loins. It’s one of the most rudimentary concepts within hip-hop, the struggle and the achievement through the art. Who can deny that satisfaction, elation and glory from that endeavor of survival? This flick pans out the storytelling of Lupe as expected. Pay attention throughout the video however, there are quite a few worthwhile cameo’s from some of the biggest names out of Houston. Expect appearances from Bun B, Willie D, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and the always tantalizing songstress Miss Nikki Jean. Pardon the digress, but I have to point out that the hook “stack that cheese” almost comes off as subtly condescending. Which would be a huge juxtaposition when featuring artist’s with songs eerily reminiscent of stack that cheese. But that could just be him referencing that Houston Hp-hop Culture. But yo, this song is about the conquest of Hip-Hop so catch Lupe’s newest single after the jump and “The Cool” is in stores now.
