Lets take it back to 02′ for a hot minute. Undoubtedly classic, K-os’s intro couldn’t be more ironic, and more of a paradox: “The Jiggy era is now over, The people of planet earth are tired…”. Little did K-os know, and us for that matter, that the jiggy era was just getting started. Did K-os jinx Hip-Hop? Watch his 2002 single after the jump…

If you were one that recognized the uniqueness and immeasurable talent of Dilla before his unfortunate passing (or one who fell victim to the dead MC bandwagon phenom…), you might get chills when listening to ‘Everytime’, a confirmed track off of “Yancey Boys” available now. The younger brother of J Dilla has taken the torch and now apparently embodies everything Jay Dee stood for. Whats even eerier, is while spttin’ Illa sounds like an amalgam of Baatin & his older brother, which makes for “Yancey Boys” quite the interesting debut. After my first listen I immediately dubbed Illa’s initial LP as Fantastic Vol. 3, as it oozes the same ambiance and vibes as Slum Village’s breakthrough sophmore album. This is one Hip-Hop head that is definitely looking forward to what Illa J has in store…

While we are on the subject of Common Sense, here’s an undisputed banger that never seen the light of day until recently. Produced by the late great J Dilla, this variant of of Be was off his sixth studio titled the same, and was emancipated on DJ Eves’ new mixtape entitled “Laced With Gems”. This is Common in his essence, please believe it…

‘Give the drummer sum’ is the next slated single of of the 313 hailing Black Milk’s debut LP “Tronic” which we caught a sneak peak earlier with ‘The Matrix‘. With visuals (and ladies) sultry enough for a James Bond intro, and a jazzy production that’ll have you bobbin’ your head, Black Milk’s single is undoubtedly one of the best music video of the year. Snatch the official video for ‘Give The Drummer Sum’ after the break, and defintiely support this upcoming MC/Producer’s music…

Freshselects recently premiered this completely ill remix to PPP’s (also known as Platinum Pied Pipers) joint ‘Shotgun’ featuring a brand spankin’ new verse from the late great J Dilla. The electronic infused track might be too different for most of the mases’ musical taste, but I say give the joint a few plays and you’ll probably start feeling the track. The soon to be released “Abundance” mixtape (above) is just a glimpse of what’s to come from Waajeed & Saadiq’s alternating group PPP… As their official second LP also entitled “Abundance” is on its way.

Cons is apparently still milking his “Don’t Quit My Day Job” LP that dropping last year, and we’re not mad at all. Directed by Rik Cordero, Cons recently elaborated on his decision to shoot the video, and that was to “reinforce the importance of going out to vote becuz right now the ECONOMY SUCKS!!! It’s the Cons fool, wORd.” Not to say that this video didn’t make a difference at the polls, but we’re sure every little bit helped in ascertaining Barack’s win last night…
