So BGR got their hands on the iPhone (so head over there to peep their entire gallery), and Walt Mossberg at The Wall Street Journal just put together a thorough iPhone 3G review. He mentions the speed is up to 5x faster then before, the audio quality and phone reception are improved, but the battery life has worsened. Catch his full review after the break.

It looks like the VZW exclusive Blackberry Thunder we saw last month is shaping up to be quite the iPhone contender. It’ll drop on Verizon and Vodafone as a lifetime exclusive, operating on high-speed HSPA and EV-DO networks (w/ a GSM/EDGE transmitter for kicks). The resolution is 360×480, which is slightly larger than the Apple iPhone and Apple iPhone 3G.

So for those that do plan on purchasing the Apple Iphone 3g when it drops July 11th, keep these joints in mind. Well it certainty has the capacity, but since it’ll only be exclusive to Verizon, I don’t see many folks switching carriers for it. Now according to BGR it’ll have a SIM card slot (for the international known, locally accepted) a microSD slot, and should be dropping Q3 this year. And being that America is are now officially/finally in the 3G age, the chip they are using supports CDMA 1x, EV-DO, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA, etc. Stay tuned for a official release date.

Well its been a long, long, long time coming, and its now looking like May is the month in which T-Mobile will catch up with the rest of the world in mobile data speeds. TmoNews reports the first launch to be in NYC, and then will eventually spread to the rest of the country’s major cities throughout the rest of 2008 (list after the break).
