BBLeaks has the exclusive on the very first images of the impending Blackberry slider, tentatively dubbed titled the Storm 3 or Bold, nobody knows for sure. And as someone whose stuck by Blackberry for 3 + years, disappointment is an understatement. This has got to be the most grotesque device RIM has ever spawned, and with Android storming the marketplace, Palm’s promising WebOS, and you can’t forget Windows Mobile 7, and Nokia’s Maemo, I fear this may be the final nail in RIM’s un-innovative coffin. If this mystery device is indeed the real deal, the accompanying OS 6.0 better be the most revolutionary, and magical software update the Canadian company has ever released…

We’re positive you’ve seen a perpetual motion Rube Goldberg machine before, but you might not of known it’s official title. Well after watching the official music video for Ok Go’s next single ‘This Too Shall Pass’ Of the “Blue Colour of the Sky”, we guarantee the name, and concept will stick. The video was filmed in a two story warehouse in the Echo Park, CA and designed and built by the band with assistance from Syyn Labs during the course of a few months. Introducing “Skinput”, a conceptual technology that reads and responds to finger taps to that of a user’s epidermis. Currently under development from Carnegie Mellon University and Microsoft, the user must wear a specialized armband with “piezoelectric cantilevers, or sensors that measure pressure, acceleration and force”. Skinput also utilizes a pico-projector to create images like menus on the user’s arm (above), or to even play Tetris which you can see in the live footage below…

Shot throughout Tokyo using thousands of individual digital stills, to achieve the stark contrasting effect of the illuminated man, an original light suit was built using hundreds of feet of high-voltage LED rope lights and a translucent nylon outer shell…

And we’re not talking the most recent X-men live action flicks, we like to pretend those never happened over here. But say Hello to the “Hover Chair” currently being developed by the Japanese, as approach to senior mobility (or sedentary lifestylers). The chair navigates itself as smooth as satin on a cushion of air, and can even be upgraded with a racing seat as well as a zabuton (Japanese-style floor cushion). The prototype is currently able to carry up to 330 pounds, and has designed by Tsunesuke Furuta and colleagues at Japan’s Kobe Gakuin University. Stay tuned for development (their team is looking for a commercial partner), and you can catch the “Hover Chair” in action below…
The perpetual destruction and construction the “Ouroborus” purveys is indeed innovative, and definitely memorizing. Conceived by Karl Lautman, after placement the Ouroborus Domino structure reconstructs itself after a single round. After five consecutive times the pieces automatically erect themselves, and its quite a spectacle to witness. Check out the live footage of the “Ouroborus Structure” below the break…
