The designer of these are calling on an obvious homage to the one of the most conspicuous and awe inspiring pop artists to ever do it, the illustrious Roy Lichtenstein. The influence’s of his work are still seen today through contemporary comic and advertising, and most recently these kicks. Arguably even his most famous piece Whaam still has a direct genealogy to these kicks that is impossible to circumnavigate. But really, enough with the magnified embellishment, right? Nike has procured two separate versions, a Nike assault low (Which should have been at least a midtop) and a Nike Vandals Hi-top.
