Japanese “Hover Chair” Arises, We’re Still A Far Cry From Professor X’s

And we’re not talking the most recent X-men live action flicks, we like to pretend those never happened over here. But say Hello to the “Hover Chair” currently being developed by the Japanese, as approach to senior mobility (or sedentary lifestylers). The chair navigates itself as smooth as satin on a cushion of air, and can even be upgraded with a racing seat as well as a zabuton (Japanese-style floor cushion). The prototype is currently able to carry up to 330 pounds, and has designed by Tsunesuke Furuta and colleagues at Japan’s Kobe Gakuin University.
